Road trips...

Many of you may not know this about me. When I was growing up, I would go on a road trip with my grandparents each summer. My grandfather had some antique cars he owned and would work on all the time. Now by antiques, I am referring to horseless carriage cars made in the late 1800's up through cars such as Ford's and Buick's made in the late 1920's. At one time, my grandfather had about 30 antique cars.

My grandparents loved to travel, so they thought it would be a great idea to join the Horseless Carriage Club of America. This combined my grandfather's love of antique cars, my grandmother's love for making and sewing clothes, and their love of travel all into one. Each summer trip provided us a different place to travel to, including Idaho, Minnesota, and Iowa to name a few. My grandfather would load his favorite car, his 1910 Stanley Steamer into the trailer, hook it up to the truck, and we were off on a cross country road trip! My grandmother would make and sew the vintage closes for us, and we would dress up at least one evening during the trip. It was certainly fun to dress up in the clothes of the early 1900's. However, I also learned to appreciate what we have now.

Now that both of my grandparents are gone, I think back often to those fun road trips and cherish them even more.

Here are some pictures of those fun road trips:

Here's my grandparents and I just before leaving for one of our summer road trips. I think I was in 5th grade here.

Las Vegas in December!

I am so excited my mom and I will be traveling to Las Vegas in December! We have tickets to go see the "Michael Jackson The Immortal" show by Cirque du Soleil at Mandalay Bay.

Here is the direct link if you want to check out the site: Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour by Cirque du Soleil

I also recently found out through Club Cirque there is a Michael Jackson Fan Fest going on at Mandalay Bay for a limited time (December 3-14, 2011). Luckily, we will be in Las Vegas at this time and also staying at Mandalay Bay, so this is perfect timing!

Places I want to visit

I created this list way back in August 2010. So, now I have a place to post the list of places I would like to visit! The list is in order of where I would like to go first. My original plan was to visit all of the countries in Europe first, like a huge European tour. However, after doing much research on Italy and France with all of the places to see, I thought it would be best to start in those two countries and then plan more trips back to visit other countries in Europe.

1. Italy
2. France
3. Washington State
4. Oregon
5. New York
6. Maine
7. United Kingdom
8. Australia
9. New Zealand
10. Figi
11. Greece
12. Germany
13. Sweden
14. Poland
15. Norway
16. Finland
17. Denmark
18. Ireland
19. Netherlands
20. Iceland
21. Antarctica
